Mechanical Engineer I

Schedule:
Full Time: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday
Position Summary:
Mechanical Engineers at LECO will work on multi-disciplined project teams designing and supporting all aspects of the project from start to finish to production support. This includes packaging, simple and complex mechanisms, manifold design and varying levels of automation. Mechanical Engineer will help developing design alongside electrical engineers, software engineers, and scientists from various disciplines. This individual will work in teams of 5-10 people. Lead mechanical engineers on these teams typically mentor entry level engineers to eventually become a lead.
Position Responsibilities:
- New product research design, testing, analysis (stress/strain, thermal, FEA)
- Costing, and documentation of mechanical components and systems
- Superior group communication skills with team-orientated focus
- Strong ability to solve problems and innovate is also expected
- Assist with production support across all released instrumentation
Position Requirements:
- Experience in 3D CAD environment (i.e. SolidWorks)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing operations, FEA
- Familiarity with castings, sheet-metal, metals, ceramics, and plastics is a plus
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or last semester) in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study
