Lecom Utility Contractors LLC is currently seeking a Telecommunication Area Manager to join our growing team.
Summary
This position is accountable for the effective planning and scheduling of all project resources. The Underground Project Manager will assign work priorities, develop job plans, define parts and materials, and engage the appropriately trained resources to execute a safe and efficient project with maximum productivity and a high degree of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:
Serve as principal contact and liaison between project staff, internal and external customers, sub-contractors, and local inspectors.
Review routine and emergency work requests and assign priority based on the nature of the activity, available resources, and customer expectations.
Coordinate project delivery, material requests, and logistical support to include sub-contractor resources, transportation, special tools, and equipment delivery.
Analyze profitability and escalate issues to the Superintendent for work that does not appear to be valid or within approved cost guidelines.
Consult with the Superintendent and Crew Foreman as necessary to determine the best course of action for various project activities.
Monitor quality standards of all jobs, including crew performance, and ensures that all quality assurance and company standards are being met.
Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
Monitor job safety and enforces safety programs and OSHA Standards as required and ensure subcontractor compliance with all required safety standards.
Work with the municipality and customer representatives to ensure work is performed to the required specifications.
Assist the assigned Project Coordinator to obtain and organize the required information, materials, and procedures required to execute the project.
Communicate schedule conflicts, delays, or changes with customer and Project Coordinator.
Coordinate efforts between engineering, Crew Foreman, and sub-contractor groups.
Identify training, equipment, tools, and materials needed to improve efficiency or reduce costs associated with the delivery of products.
Maintain records and issue job plan packets including the scope of work, materials, budget, and special instruction to Crew Foreman.
Track project activity close-out reports and follow-up activity.
Monitor and report utilization, scheduling, and close-out metrics to the Superintendent.
Experience and Key Competencies:
5 years of experience working along the right of way excavation, trenching, horizontal directional drilling, installing underground utilities and utility vaults including fiber placement.
Minimum 3 years of experience supervising a crew.
A combination of formal education at accredited learning institutions, military training or technical trade school, and practical industry field experience.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of how to read and interpret general construction drawings and specifications, as well as construction means, methods, and materials.
Knowledge of construction cost control and basic processes and procedures.
Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
Required to hold and maintain an OSHA 30 Certification.
Ability to communicate and work with customers to develop and maintain long-term relationships.
Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and provide a clean MVR. Class A CDL preferred.
Demonstrated organization, planning, and scheduling skills in a field project environment.
Knowledge of standard industry practices, work orders, and scheduling processes.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to assess technical problems, estimate work hours, and identify required materials.
Should have good written and verbal communication skills, must be approachable and tactful.
Personal computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and project planning software.
