What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at Ledgent?
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for making sure team members are paid accurately and on time. This position manages payroll functions, including calculating team member paychecks, withholding taxes, and other deductions, as well as maintaining accurate payroll records for the business. This position requires an extremely detail orientated person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and biweekly payroll for multiple companies (roughly 500 team members) using Microsoft Great Plains and Kelly Payroll
- Post service payroll entries daily
- Process commission and bonus payroll
- Verify that all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll reports, processed by a third-party payroll company, are accurate
- Process all Certified Payrolls on a weekly basis and make sure they are delivered to the job-specific contractor
- Enter new hire information into the payroll system upon onboarding and deactivate team members when they are offboarded
- Process changes such as, address, pay rate, tax withholding, direct deposit, and team member deductions, etc.
- Calculate child support garnishments and liens and notify third-party payroll to pay. Oversee payments made and amounts satisfied
- Maintain company paid time off policies and monitor for accuracy
- Provide exceptional customer service. Be a friendly resource and a subject matter expert for team members to ask questions they may have regarding paystubs
- Generate reports from payroll software when needed for HR purposes
- 5 years of experience executing payroll processes and managing people (construction experience strongly preferred)
- Experience with enterprise accounting/payroll software (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred)
- Certified Payroll experience (Davis Bacon) and related reporting, preferred
- Strong work ethic, professional integrity, and reliability in the handling of highly confidential information
