POSITION TITLE: Server
REPORTS TO: General Manager
TASKS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Complies with all quality standards, employee rules, policies, and procedures.
- Displays a positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments.
- Completes shift work, as assigned, in accordance with company standards.
- Checks server station for supply stock at the start of the shift.
- Sets up the work station at the beginning of each shift. Makes sure that it is properly stocked prior to the meal production period and replenishes items as necessary throughout the shift.
- Checks table settings for proper presentation, completeness, and cleanliness.
- Cleans and sanitizes the work station during meal preparation periods and at the end of the meal period.
- Communicates clearly and efficiently to kitchen staff, receives information and feedback from them on their needs, and takes action based on observation and information received.
- Graciously greets customers upon their arrival and escorts dine-in customers to their table, balancing the customer flow and taking into account special requests.
- Greets customers after they are seated. Informs guests of specials and menu changes, makes suggestions, and answers questions regarding food, beverages, and service.
- Takes food and beverage orders from guests and inputs order into Positouch to be prepared. Relays relevant comments from customers directly to the Manager.
- Prepares drinks from soda machine, tea dispenser, and/or hot beverages from water heater or coffee maker.
- Tracks cooking times on all orders. Picks up food items from serving bar. Checks the food for proper appearance and completeness before it is presented to the customer. Serves the order to the guests promptly.
- Maintains a clean dining area for guests by clearing away used items and pre-bussing ➢ Processes cash and credit card payments.
- Removes soiled dishes/silverware as customers finish each course. Cleans and resets vacated tables.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the front-of-the-house including all tables, chairs, floors, windows, and restrooms. Restocks workstation with china, silverware, glasses, utensils, condiments, napkins, etc. Tends to side work duties whenever possible.
- At the end of the shift, counts money and reconciles with shift report to verify transactions.
PREREQUISITES:
Education: Must be able to read, write, speak clearly, listen for detail, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
Experience: Has a basic knowledge of safety and sanitation processes. Previous experience in food production. Demonstrated organization and time management skills are beneficial.
Physical: Must be able to bend, kneel, and lift/carry items weighing up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, be visually attentive, and clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $4 an hour plus TIPS.
