The purpose of this position within the organization is to perform work and project management associated with various types of projects within Lee County Utilities. The primary duties for the position are to manage Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) through the various stages of the project lifecycle including design plan reviews, permitting, procurement of services, and construction inspection and management. Other duties may include assisting with in-house main replacements and major maintenance-type projects, research of upcoming legislation or technologies, and regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge in the following areas: project management, engineering design principles, water and wastewater treatment, distribution and collection systems, municipal permitting, and common procurement methods. This position works independently, under the limited supervision of a professional engineer or administrative supervisor, reporting major activities through periodic meetings and reports.As a Project Manager, you can also enjoy some awesome benefits which include:
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Manages Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) for the water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems.Assists in coordination of assigned projects with local, state, and federal agencies.Develops scopes and coordinates engineering consultants' designs of CIP projects.Manages performance of contractors, oversees, and inspects completed CIP projects.Performs reviews of construction documents for compliance with County standards and relative codes.Review of in-house technical staff efforts.Drafts and submits annual regulatory reports and studies involving water supply, treatment, and distribution; wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal; and reuse water distribution. Coordinates, manages, compiles, reviews, and evaluates data regarding the treatment process and distribution and collection systems.Resolution of issues during design or construction. Coordinates with County and departmental staff in the successful delivery of projects to our customers.Perform water and wastewater hydraulic analysis using modeling software.Performs related work as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Experience with water and wastewater system capital improvement projects is preferred.Knowledge of modern engineering principles and practices regarding the planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, and reclaimed treatment facilities and infrastructure.Ability to review, prepare and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and specifications.Knowledge of procedures and practices applied for inspection and testing materials in utility systems and treatment plants.Possess customer service skills.Ability to communicate effectively; verbally and in written form.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability to perform field inspections.Knowledge and experience with utility modeling software, project scheduling software, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD preferred.The workdays and hours for this position are Monday through Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Salary : $52,900 - $67,000
