Job Summary:
The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator (or Disaster/Pandemic Coordinator) participates in the planning and directing of the Agency's response to disasters and emergencies as described in the Agency's Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- One year of management/supervisory experience in a health-related setting and experience working in emergency management preferred.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and leadership techniques; knowledge of state and federal rules, regulations, and standards related to emergency preparedness; and skill in solving problems.
Primary Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Agency’s policies and procedures related to emergency preparedness and response comply with, and are current for,
the requirements in the Health and Human Services (HHS) Rule §558.256, Emergency Preparedness and Implementation.
- Implement and ensure compliance with additional local, state, and federal regulations relating to the operations of the Agency and emergency preparedness and response.
- Prepare and conduct emergency preparedness and response trainings for staff upon hire and as policies/procedures change; but, at least annually.
- Ensure the Agency’s ability to provide services to its clients and families throughout an emergency
- Coordinate and conduct drills to test the Agency’s emergency preparedness and response at least annually.
- Document the information related to an emergency or drill, including the effectiveness of the Agency’s response and, if applicable, develop an Action Plan.
- May serve on the Interdisciplinary Team and/or the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Committee.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
