Leidos has a career opportunity in Reston, Va for a Director, Corporate Responsibility, reporting to the SVP, Communications and Marketing. The position will oversee a team responsible for helping to develop, execute and communicate the company’s sustainability/Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and initiatives.

The successful candidate will have deep insight regarding third party reporting guidance, including, but not limited to, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting and Standards Board (SASB), CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project – Climate, Supply Chain and Forestry), and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) frameworks as well as ESG research providers, including MSCI, ISS and Sustainalytics.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Corporate Responsibility/Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, including strategy, component goals and thought leadership to advance the company’s objectives.
  • Direct the development, production and distribution of communications materials, including sustainability/corporate responsibility reports, disclosures, internal materials, messaging, talking points and more.
  • Build and maintain relationships with organizations that are meaningful and relevant to the company’s sustainability/corporate responsibility efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners and communications & marketing colleagues to amplify efforts and firmly establish the company in the space.
  • Manage a charitable budget and related non-profit relationships.
  • Provide insightful, informed and strategic communications counsel to business leaders

Basic Qualifications

BA/BS or equivalent experience and 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 years or prior relevant experience. Generally has 7 years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

  • Familiarity with social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and/or corporate governance, including working to align business objectives and corporate purpose with ESG strategy, priorities and activities.
  • Knowledge of sustainability, climate risk, environmental and social issues.
  • Experience with benchmarking performance for corporate growth and business performance and demonstrating alignment of ESG activities to key stakeholders resulting in improved impact.
  • Experience with bringing operational rigor to align priorities and business strategic opportunities.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide integrated and durable solutions.
  • Ability to execute against clear objectives, priorities, and success metrics and KPIs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly through continuous interface with senior leadership, program managers, and other high-level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with corporate reporting, market research, trend analysis, technical writing, corporate sustainability/ESG best practices.
  • Ability to become a trusted partner and advisor to business teams and senior management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and as a self-starter across a variety of competing priorities.
  • Possession of excellent organizational, problem-solving, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for engaging in the community.
