The Airborne Solutions Operation of the Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Mid-Level Autonomous Systems Engineer for a position in Colorado Springs, CO. The Mid-Level Autonomous Systems Engineer will work with other engineers across Leidos to support unmanned airborne systems (UAS) autonomy. This position will design Leidos autonomy architectures and develop autonomous aircraft systems for our customers.
The Mid-Level Autonomous Systems Engineer will support the execution of Autonomy development of new autonomous platforms. The qualified candidate will support the development, design, and delivery of scalable architecture solutions that enable rapid development of new solutions. The qualified candidate will also work with a team of Scientists and Engineers who provide direct support in UAS Autonomous Systems and will play a role in supporting these activities across Leidos.

Primary Responsibilities:
Design, articulate, and support the development of autonomous architecture subsystems and components that provide capabilities to support both direct customer programs as well as internal research and development.
Work alongside other engineers and scientists developing and delivering autonomous solutions in a range of technology areas, to include planning, decision-making, behavior development and action execution.
Required Qualifications:
U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or Engineering degree with minimum of four (4) years of experience, or Master's degree with two (2) years of prior relevant experience; four (4) additional years of related experience will be acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Some knowledge and understanding of autonomous systems design.
Ability to discuss autonomy architectures and/or autonomous behaviors.
Software development experience.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret level security clearance.
Experience designing, developing autonomous single-agent systems.
Familiarity with commercial and Open-Source Autonomy.
Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools.
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
Salary : $78,000 - $120,000
