Job Description
The National Security Sector has an opportunity for a General Clerk III in Chesapeake VA. The successful candidate will be a Member of the Towed Array Intermediate Maintenance Activity (TA- IMA) team in Norfolk, VA. This site provides direct fleet support with towed acoustic systems installed on submarines and surface ships, including 24/7/365 worldwide casualty assistance (CASREP) support. Other responsibilities of the program include shipping/receiving/warehousing, government property administration, and asset tracking and forecasting.
Primary Responsibilities
Candidate will be responsible for assisting in all areas of office administration, record maintenance, asset inventory, and technical documentation.
- Responsible for answering telephone calls and route them to the proper personnel.
- Coordinate shipments utilizing a computer automated freight management system. Process required documentation to support asset shipping and receiving.
- Process required paperwork packages for array installs and removals.
- Assist O-Level Instructor with preparations for courses as needed.
- Assist with entries on the Shop and Pier Schedule on SharePoint as needed.
- Input inventory changes into a computer-controlled database.
- Ensure weekly and monthly IMA reports and inventory data are properly formatted and submitted on time in accordance with existing instructions.
- Acquire company purchase card and make purchases and reconciliations in support of program requirements and in accordance with company corporate card purchasing policy.
- Possess the ability to operate office machines including copiers and scanners.
This position has occasional requirements for overtime work in order to meet US Navy operational schedules.
Candidate must be capable of performing assigned work with minimum supervision.
Selected Applicant will have the ability to obtain and retain a Department of Defense security clearance at the Secret level.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Prior office administration experience of 1 or more years of experience.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Operating Systems.
- Experience with PDF software.
- Must obtain a minimum of an interim Secret prior to commencement of employment or and Active Secret security clearance.
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Have a working knowledge of the Towed Array Management System (TAMS)
- Have a working knowledge of the Electronic Transportation Acquisition (ETA) System
- Have a working knowledge with SharePoint
This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefit. Leidos will ensure that all provisions are met through their wages and benefits. The pay for this position will be $17.28/hr.
