Description
The Leidos Civil Group is seeking a high-level computer aided design (CAD) drafter to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team.
In this role you will support the Federal Aviation Administration preparing new and revised engineering drafting products for civil, electrical, electronic and mechanical design engineers using drafting/design software and automated tracking tools. The projects support air traffic control facilities over the geographic scope of the Eastern Service Area.
This job is based in the eastern part of the United States, with up to 15% travel.
Drafter Primary Responsibilities
- Develop layout, section and detail drawings for civil, electrical and mechanical engineering designs including building information modeling (BIM) using Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit
- Review models provided by FAA engineering firms and construction contractors for compliance with BIM guidance, alignment of various discipline models, and provide clash detection reports and interpretation
- Adhere to applicable drawing standards based on directives and standard architectural and drafting practices
- Communicate with project engineers regarding design requirements and achieve a common understanding of project and drawing goals
- Utilize standard drafting and tracking software and support others in the use of these systems
- Provide substantial coordination of drafting activities, including coordination of project and drawing elements with engineers to ensure project accuracy
- Enforce standards and perform quality control of drafting products
- Provide monthly reporting of drawing status, including data on drawing number, date received, date completed, and any pertinent notes relating to drawing completion
- Review and update as-built drawing construction punchlist items
- Maintain a desk guide to support standard operating procedures
- Provide monthly and semi-annual status reports
Drafter Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in drafting, design or engineering technology
- Proficiency using AutoCAD and REVIT to create 2D and 3D drawings and models
- Four years of experience drafting engineering designs and creating building information (BIM) models or two years and a Masters degree
- Ability to organize work and use automated systems to track and submit work
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and information processing tools
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

Pay Range:
Pay Range $66,300.00 - $119,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
