Are you interested in being an important member on a dynamic team of developers, engineers and analysts dedicated to building new capabilities for Leidos and its customers? The Airborne Mission Operations division is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Army Geospatial Center’s Instrument Set, Reconnaissance and Surveying Capabilities (ISRSC) Program. Commonly known as ‘ENFIRE,’ the candidate will provide on-going software development and hardware integration enhancements in support of the ISRSC engineer surveying set. ENFIRE is used by Army and Marine Engineers to collect geospatial, feature, imagery, and 3D data, to collect road, bridge, river, etc, reconnaissance via on a hardened laptop and handheld sensor devices. Candidate will work on an Agile development team consisting of ENFIRE developers, testers, and trainers, who work closely with the customer to design and implement new requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure software is updated with latest features utilizing software development best practices to generate clear and concise code for a suite of Geospatial applications including WPF .NET, Kotlin/Android, and Windows Based operating systems
- Demonstrate knowledge of full stack development principles to align both backend and frontend portions of the ENFIRE application to maintain both UI fluidity and data integrity
- Collaborate within an Agile Development Environment to develop, maintain and support a large codebase system and participate in daily Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices to maximize efficiency
- Assist the QA/QC team in identifying, logging, fixing and verifying bugs, issues and defects for each aspect of the software suite and collaborate with integration teams and customer teams to ensure release cycles remain on schedule and application health remains at the highest it can be
- Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Leverage geospatial SW and technologies, ie Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, etc to aid in data dissemination and repository development through a dashboard portal
- Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions
- Write well-designed, testable code
- Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
- Document and maintain software functionality
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
- Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback
- Comply with project plans and industry standards
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of software development experience
- Must have background in Geospatial systems development and Geospatial information systems
- Experience with C#, .NET Development, Windows OS knowledge, Kotlin, Android Development and relevant IDEs like Visual Studio and Android Studio
- Experience with the ESRI Developer Suite including ArcGIS Maps SDK (formerly ArcGIS Runtime) for .NET, ArcGIS REST API, ArcGIS API for Python Experience, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Local Server
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on client-facing discussion
- Experience working on large and complex codebases
- Ability to complete SW/HW integrations (LiDAR, cameras, GPS, etc)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the ability to interface with the design and development teams
- Working knowledge of organizational and test management software like JIRA, Miro and Confluence
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Government Contracting experience
- Experience working with Army enterprise systems and computing environment tools (i.e. GRID, CPCE, JBCP, JCMS, JVMF, etc)
- Experience with sensors, autonomous data collection and LiDAR systems a plus
- Experience with Docker and Linux a plus
- SQL, HTML, Python knowledge is a plus
- Experience in developing headless CLI versions of existing applications a plus
- Willingness to travel to different project sites
- Willingness and ability to work on multiple projects at one time
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to liaise with other teams within the Geospatial world and interoperate with organizations throughout the space
- Ability to communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues and bridge the gap between the technical and the non technical
- Experience interfacing with military audiences
- Military experience as a Combat or Geospatial Engineer, Cavalry Scout or Military Policeman, SGT or SSG

Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
