Job Description

The selected candidate will assist SSA with providing desktop support. The candidate will work with technical oversight during training on processes/procedures. The candidate should have strong team-based work experience while maintaining the ability to work independently. Candidate should have experience working with customers of different technical abilities in a professional manner. Candidate should have ability to follow directions, stay on task and complete projects/assignments in a timely manner with minimum supervision.

This resource will need to work at the SSA Woodlawn facility, as needed.

Foundation for Success (Basic Qualifications):

This experience is the foundation a candidate needs to be successful in this position:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • 4 years of experience in the installation of hardware and software on workstations and laptops.
  • 4 years of experience troubleshooting hardware/software interface and interoperability problems relating to system patches, updates and enhancements on workstations and laptops.

These skills will help you succeed in this position:
  • Experience with imaging, configuring, deploying and troubleshooting government workstations, laptops, and iPhones.
  • Experience in the installation of hardware/peripheral devices workstations and laptops.
  • Experience in the installation of software on workstations and laptops.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware/software interface and interoperability problems relating to system patches, updates and enhancements on workstations and laptops.
  • Ability to administer and troubleshoot Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience with Software Center, VPN, and Trellix (formerly McAfee)
  • Experience lifting, moving, and setting up workstations.
  • Experience with meeting room equipment, such as projectors, televisions and teleconference equipment.
  • Experience with a problem incident ticketing system such as ServiceNow.
  • Experience using support tools such as Active Directory, WS-Info, CMD prompt, and Computer Management
  • Experience with remote assistance tools such as Bomgar and Remote Desktop.
  • Ability to document work and keep peers and management informed regarding technical procedures or issues.

  • Utilize incident ticketing system to receive emails requesting assistance.
  • Install hardware and software on workstations and laptops.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software.
  • Image, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, and iPhones.
  • All other duties as assigned or directed.
  • Work at the Social Security Administration facility in Woodlawn, Maryland to support onsite users, as needed.

Education & Qualifications
  • Master's degree and 2 years of experience in a training-related field or bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in a training-related field
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust

Pay Range:

Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
