POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for planning and implementation of life enrichment programs that encourage and stimulate residents’ physical, cognitive, social and spiritual needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop cognitive, physical, social and spiritual programs that promote each residents’ quality of life
- Develop, lead and facilitate recreational programs appropriate for small and large groups, and one-on-one that promote resident satisfaction
- Plan, organize and implement resident outings and special events
- Develop, lead and facilitate intergenerational programs
- Create and distribute a monthly life enrichment calendar
- Complete a “Sharing Life’s Journey Questionnaire” for each resident upon move in
- Facilitate monthly Resident Council Meetings
- Tastefully decorate the community for holidays and events
- Plan and host community events for residents and families, coordinating with other departments
- Identify and coordinate a group of community volunteers for life enrichment activities
- Order life enrichment supplies within department budget
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff through consistent leadership, supervision and coaching
- Promote positive relationships with residents, staff and visitors
Perform any other duties as requested within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job. May be required to assist at sister communities upon request.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED required. Recreation Therapy or similar degree is strongly preferred. Two years’ experience in an assisted living or long-term care setting and two years of supervisory experience or a combination of education and work experience.
Computer Skills
Must have demonstrable knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office in a Windows environment, with a capacity to master company specific software.
