As the Director of Titles, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the titles and registration process for the vehicles financed by our company. This role requires a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of state and federal regulations related to vehicle titles and registrations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record of leading similar teams at an auto lender, and the ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally. This role reports to the VP of Operations.

• Title and Registration Management:
• Oversee the entire vehicle titles and registration process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Develop and implement efficient and streamlined processes to enhance the speed and accuracy of title and registration transactions.
• Prioritize the pursuit of liens not completed using exposure metrics. 
• Manage the portfolio risk of liens not completed, filing BIOC claims or enforcing legal action with dealerships in partnership with Sales, Operations, and Legal.
• Team Leadership:
• Manage a team of title specialists, owning all staffing decisions and planning.
• Own the relationships with third-party service providers supporting our lien management processes.
• Handle escalated customer situations related to registrations and titles processing.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement and excellence.
• Communication and Collaboration:
• Collaborate with internal teams, including loan servicing, legal, and customer service, to address and resolve title and registration-related issues.
• Communicate effectively with external partners, such as state DMVs and third-party vendors.Drive continuous improvement and automation of processes and systems used by the Funding team, working closely with our Engineering and Product teams.
• Quality Assurance:
• Implement quality control measures to minimize errors in title and registration documentation.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and completeness of title and registration records.
• Regulatory & Compliance:
• Stay abreast of changes in state and federal regulations related to vehicle titles and registrations.
• Ensure all title and registration processes are in full compliance with regulatory requirements.

• At least 10 years experience in auto lending required, with deep domain expertise on titles and registrations.
• At least 5 years of management experience required.
• In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations governing vehicle titles and registrations.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement.
