Job Description
This manager is responsible for managing, controlling and directing the material planning, inventory control, storage, shipping and receiving functions. This positition will be strictly Materials focused while working with other departments to meet business needs.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate with the purchasing, production and engineering departments to ensure adequate supply and efficient material movement.
- Provide for the development and maintenance of inventory control systems by tracking the status of purchase orders, inventory levels and production requirements.
- Review existing procedures for accuracy; recommend and implement improved procedures when necessary.
- Forecast plans for anticipated materials requirements.
- Review production schedules to ensure the availability of materials.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 8 years related experience. At least 5 years of leadership experience is preferred.Experience with 'Lean' material management preferred. Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong verbal skills to effectively communicate with other departments required. Ability to develop and maintain strong, team oriented relationships with co-workers. Expert knowledge in data analysis tools including Excel, Access.
