LTI R&D Associate I

Gaithersburg, MD

As a member of the Lentigen Experimental Process Development Team, you will have the exciting opportunity to support the development, optimization and qualification of analytical methods and assays. You will use your cell and molecular biology knowledge to produced and titrate lentiviral vectors, including methods using flow cytometry, ELISA and qPCR. You may support activities for assay qualification and transfer. You will assist in cell culture, maintenance and cryopreservation of cell lines. Your organizational and documentation skills will be instrumental in the tracking and communication of data. Additionally, you will provide summaries and present data and progress in group meetings. Your attention to detail and ability to reliably develop and perform analytical assays and methods in a cross-functional team will be integral to the continued development of Lentigen's new products and growing success.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences with 1-2 years related experience
• Hands on experience with cell culture of adherent and suspension cell lines is required.
• Knowledge of lentiviral vector production and related titration methods using flow cytometry, qPCR and ELISA is desired.
• Experience with ddPCR is a plus.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good documentation and organizational skills, often providing summaries and generating development reports.

• Experience designing DOE using JMP is a plus
• Experience working in a BSL2 environment is desired

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Life Sciences or related field with at least one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment:

This job is performed in a temperature controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a sanitized laboratory setting and routinely uses standard medical and research equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, incubators, pipettes and computers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to blood, viruses, bacteria, body fluids and other tissues. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as scrubs, coveralls, masks, glasses and gloves. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
