As an Interior Designer you will perform programming and conceptual design tasks thru preparation of contract documents under the direct supervision of one or more senior interior designers. Tasks will be in support of architectural and interiors projects related to new construction, tenant improvement, and FF&E work.
Responsibilities
Interior Designers work as part of a multi-discipline team performing interior design during all phases of multiple simultaneous projects. Interior Designers perform assignments under the direct supervision of one or more Senior Interior Designers. Interior Designers concentrate on specific design or technical documentation tasks that contribute to overall projects. Assignments include programming, space planning, design, FF&E selection, documentation and bid evaluation, editing specifications, producing deliverable drawing sets for finish plans, interior elevations, room finish schedules, furniture plans, and interior details.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Designs and specifies project-appropriate interior design requirements.
- Assists in selection and documentation of FF&E
- Performs Revit modeling and detailing.
- Perform cross-discipline discussions and coordination with multidisciplinary teammates.
- Conducts site investigations and observations.
- Prepares narratives, design presentations, boards, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, working within project schedule and budget constraints.
- Maintains knowledge of current industry trends on space, function, lighting, finishes, furniture and equipment, etc.
- Performs construction administration.
- Assisting with marketing/business development activities.
- Occasional travel for project related activities relative to existing building assessments/investigations, client meetings, or construction jobsite observations may be required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a 4 year accredited program in Interior Design or Architecture.
- 3 years of experience in interior design on a wide variety of projects in the A/E industry with demonstrated ability to work independently
- Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with computer software including Revit, Sketch-Up, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Community involvement and participation in IIDA or affiliated Interior Design
