The Copywriter (Event Strategy and Production), a new position at LEO, is a rare and unique opportunity to build a career in brand strategy, corporate communications, creative content, and event production, for some of the biggest names in business.
We are looking for a zealous, diligent writer whose adroit deployment of words and phrases piques interest, snackifies stories, and stirs emotions – whether in five words or 500 . This person will author sales presentations, briefs, ad campaigns, blog posts, and an ever-evolving array of internal and external collateral and content in support of our award-winning work for Fortune 500 brands and officers.

The Copywriter is a key contributor who works closely with the SVP, Strategy and team members across functions to organize and express our ideas, offerings, and performance to audiences that include clients, employees, and prospective customers. This position is responsible for writing, editing, and proofreading the copy that describes and represents our award-winning, industry-leading solutions for a variety of business development opportunities, marketing and communications initiatives, and live, hybrid, and virtual events.
The ideal candidate works both independently and collaboratively as part of a team – expressing complex ideas in a compelling voice that is reflective of LEO’s brand.
This position will support new and existing opportunities and internal initiatives by:
· Writing clear, concise copy with a consistent LEO Events voice
· Rethinking, revising, and rewriting (to really nail it)
· Editing and proofreading for accuracy and clarity
· Working closely with designers to make the whole greater than the sum of its parts
· Collaborate with Creative, Marketing, Production, Digital, and Meeting Services departments to support programs and events
· Using SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach
· Conducting research to broaden knowledge and strengthen strategy
· Sourcing images and other content to support ideas
· Partnering with the Strategy department manager to support organization and growth of Strategy as a service, to clients and colleagues
· Researching and curating industry statistics, data, trends, and analysis
· Embracing travel opportunities for learning and growth; occasional travel required
· Working flexible hours at times
· Jumping in and helping out – as part of our collective effort to deliver industry-leading results for LEO co-workers and clients
Qualifications:
· BS/BA in marketing, English, journalism, or related field
· Proven experience as a copywriter or related role
· Experience with creative writing for business and entertainment is a plus
Competencies:
· A baseline understanding of Microsoft Office software and scheduling software.
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
· Love for the English language and all things grammar.
· Ability to maintain a professional and positive demeanor in fast-paced, often-changing, and sometimes stressful situations.
· Eagerness to adhere to brand voice, tone, and style guidelines – and guide others
· Knowledge of online content strategy and creation
· Experience with SEO
· Strong research skills
· Excellent time-management and organizational skills
Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:
Employee required to spend a portion of time in a seated position looking at a computer screen. Employee will be required to do some standing and walking. Employee will be in a well-lighted, heated and/or airconditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
