Job Description:
Reports to the CTEi Principal and Assistant Principal. The Vocational Teacher’s role is to help students learn career area subject matter in accordance with educational frameworks and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible young adults.

- Teaches district approved curriculum; prepares lesson plans accordingly.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.
- Creates a classroom/career area environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and work ethic when working on special projects.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals. In harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
- Ensures accuracy and best practices for compliance with organizational standards.
- Keeps records and prepares progress reports electronically.
- Proficient basic computer skills.
- Keeps current in discipline and teaching techniques.
- Participates in professional development and remains current in the field.
- Any other relative teaching duties as assigned.
- Supervises the classroom, students, and teaching assistants/subs when applicable.
Position Type: Full Time
Qualifications:
Candidate must be willing to pursue licensure according to the requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) within a prescribed time period OR, possess the appropriate DESE license.
