Currently hiring a Vote-by-Mail Specialist to join our full-time, year-round Voter Services Team.
This Voter Services team member co-leads the Vote-by-Mail effort during election time, and provides critical administrative support to the Voter Services team year round. Attention to detail, critical thinking skills, the ability to seek out information and manage complex projects are essential.
During Election Time, the Vote-by-Mail Specialist is responsible for:
· Participating in the recruitment, screening and hiring of Vote-by-Mail seasonal workers.
· Training and co-managing the VBM seasonal team alongside the Voter Services Administrative Specialist.
· Researching complex Vote-by-Mail issues and working proactively to come up with solutions.
· Preparing and presenting Vote-by-Mail ballots to the Canvassing Board.
· Ensuring proper security measures are followed for Vote-by-Mail ballots.
· Accounting for all Vote-by-Mail ballots
· Managing Vote-by-Mail request processing and data extraction
· Communicating in writing and by phone with voters to resolve issues
· Operating commercial mail machinery to assemble and process Vote-by-Mail ballots
· Coordinating vendor services and machine maintenance for Vote-by-Mail project area
· Overseeing Provisional Ballot research efforts with assistance from the Voter Services Director, Coordinator, and Administrative Specialist.
· Working with the Public Information Specialist to support Leon County Canvassing Board processes as they relate to the Vote-by-Mail project area
Year-Round Administrative Duties include:
· Creating and maintaining training resources for the Vote-by-Mail project area.
· Processing voter registration updates.
· Performing quality assurance of data processing work.
· Troubleshooting voter registration issues
· Using computers to access and maintain election records
· Communicating with voters as needed
· Working with the Voter Services Director and Candidate & Committee Coordinator to track and maintain all mail materials.
· Scanning and filing documents
· Maintaining document archives
· Other duties, as assigned
This is a great position for someone with a meticulous eye for detail, a knack for solving intricate puzzles, and a passion for project management.
