QUALITY MANAGER-Automotive Assembly

Job Duties:
- Teach & implement problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.
- Participate & lead team activities to maintain and continuously improve on the department’s KOI’s (See attached list of Performance Objectives).
- Communicate, lead, and direct the activities of the Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers to ensure that all customer expectations are achieved satisfactorily through employee training and awareness.
- Ensure all control plans, work guides, customer quality expectations and departmental records are current, documented accurately and maintained per IATF requirements.
- Lead training & development programs for the Assembly Quality group as well as assist with quality related training with other Assembly groups.
- Conduct data analysis reviews to proactively identify data trends indicative of potential quality concerns.
- Maintain and manage the Layered Process Audit system.
- Recommend solutions to non-conforming material through designated channels. Assist in the implementation and verification of the corrective action effectiveness.
- Prepare management summary reports and trend charts detailing department key operating indicators.
- Develop and integrate validation test methods for various processes within the Assembly department.
- Support supplier and customer quality audits.
- Liaison and coordinate activities to provide prompt resolution to customer directed concerns.
- Represent Assembly Department in APQP Launch meetings.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5 years of experience leading teams in automotive assembly
- 3 years of experience with root cause analysis 5Y, Fishbone Diagrams, 8D
- Experience in the following IATF 16949/ISO 9001 requirements, PFMEAs and Control Plans
- Demonstrated interpersonal, MS Office , problem solving and leadership skills
Education Required
- Bachelor of Science Degree
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience with industrial equipment, molding, paint processing and/or statistical process controls
- Six Sigma knowledge
