Overview of Position
This position works with the buyers and accounts payable on a variety of accounting and clerical tasks for multiple store locations in a casual, collaborative and fast-paced environment. This position is based in Portland, Maine. Full-time, year-round job
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reconcile vendor invoices with receivers in Counterpoint retail software from checked-in shipments from multiple LeRoux locations and prepare them to be paid in a timely manner.
- Request credits for damages and discrepancies
- Interpret invoices in multiple formats from a wide variety of vendors
- Apply outstanding and applicable vendor credits
- Follow up with receiving in various locations with any quantity discrepancies between receivers and invoices not noted and resolve
- Communicate with vendors regarding missing invoices and follow up on vendor inquiries
- Communicate with buyers about cost changes or cost discrepancies
- Review and reconcile monthly vendor statements
- Assist accounts payable with sorting and filing responsibilities
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications / Experience Required
Detail oriented candidate is a must, will train the right person
Qualifications / Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; or commensurate experience
Qualifications / Required Knowledge
Experience with Microsoft word, outlook, and excel; some experience with bookkeeping software a plus
Qualifications / Skills and Abilities
- Attention to detail
- Organized and detail oriented, with strong proficiency with numbers
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
- Strong oral and written communication abilities; provide clear written communication with vendors and coworkers
- Ability to work with discretion to private business information
- Proven ability to perform accurately, ethically, and in a timely manner
Qualifications / Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at a computer 8 hours per day under fluorescent lighting
- Ability to use stairs, occasionally bend, lift and kneel.
- Use standard office equipment like phones, filing cabinets, scanners, copiers and fax machines
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Current Covid vaccination required
