Inventory Accounting Supervisor

Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Inventory/Gross Profit Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of gross profit and inventory valuation and reporting. This includes: Tire Center and Warehouse gross profit reconciliation and reporting Process owner/subject matter expert on inventory/LIFO in Supply Chain Project Maintain FIFO database and calculate monthly FIFO adjustment Monthly Inventory Profit Elimination Coordination of FYE tire center inventory counts Annual LIFO calculation Annual inventory consolidation Quarterly and Annual warranty calculation Supervises gross profit employees Periodic review of obsolete inventory Work closely with outside auditors related to inventory valuation and counts The Inventory/Gross Profit Supervisor will be competent in Customer First and Netsuite and will be an integral part of the selection and testing of the new point of sale and supply chain systems. S/he will work closely with the Purchasing Department regarding inventory and pricing. The individual will need an understanding of Price Optimization as well as i-series and related integrations. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Reconciling tire center and warehouse gross profits and performing other month-end functions such as eliminating profits in tire center inventory. Must have proficiency in NetSuite including saved searches and script validation. System development, testing, and trouble-shooting, including future point-of-sale, supply chain, and A/P automation projects. Special projects (example-Price Optimization, Member Dealer Buyouts). Supervising, training, developing staff. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor Degree in Accounting and 3 years of accounting experience, including financial close, reconciliations, analysis and reporting CPA certification preferred dvanced PC skills including Word, Excel, Google Suite, Netsuite, Customer First or working knowledge of similar general ledger and ERP systems. Experience with project development and technical writing Ability to identify procedural and internal control weaknesses and provide suggestions and guidance for improvement. Data extraction abilities using tools like Monarch and Showcase Query. Must possess the time management and organizational skills necessary to work quickly and effectively under pressure with the flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment, concentrating on several areas of work at one time. Strong analytical and decision making skills with proven ability to manage high complexity and diversity of work assignments. Ability to communicate information clearly and professionally (both verbally and in writing) while ensuring that the quality and content of the message are relevant to the circumstances and understandable to wide audiences; the ability to draft, proofread, and send written communications effectively; the ability and willingness to carefully listen to others by asking appropriate questions, avoiding interruptions, and the leadership to collaborate internally, cross-functionally, and across management levels in formal and informal settings. Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and budget organizational activities and projects effectively and strategically.
