Reports to: Vice President of Development and Strategic Projects

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Development and Strategy Projects, The Development Manager has principal responsibility for implementing Levine’s overall direct mail solicitation strategy, including electronic mail campaigns and is the primary contact for donor-related inquiries. They are responsible for daily gift entry and acknowledgment, report generation, database maintenance, and coordination of mailings (including mail merges). The position liaises with the Finance Department regularly and provides necessary administrative support for the Development Department. The Manager also participates in planning and attending donor events including the Gala. The position offers opportunity for growth in the coming years as Levine anticipates additional development needs as outcomes of strategic planning initiated by our newly appointed President & CEO. There is the possibility for remote work some days each week during business hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Solicitation Mailing Schedule Oversight and Coordination – Draft, coordinate and initiate all in-house direct mail fundraising efforts for all donors, including mailing lists and effective merging and personalization as required;
  • Donor Stewardship – Cultivate and build relationships with donors in order to help maintain good donor relations;
  • Gift Processing – Record, acknowledge, file, post, and report all contributions, pledges as well as pledge reminders;
  • Database Management – Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on all donors, campaigns, funds, etc., in Raiser’s Edge. Generate income as well as other reports for development and finance departments; and mailing lists as needed;
  • Event Support – Provide support for all Development events including the Gala. Tasks include creating and mailing sponsorship packets, invitations and tracking RSVPs in Raiser’s Edge. Staff several events as required;
  • Administrative Support – Maintain development calendar and electronic/paper development files; provide administrative support to the Vice President of Development as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, or other fundraising database software strongly preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized
  • Self-starter, responsible and reliable
  • 2-3 years experience in Development work, or related field preferred
  • An ability to handle situations with tact and courtesy
  • An ability to focus and know when and how to ask for help
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An innate sense of curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a sense of humor
  • Some night and weekend availability
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of training and experience

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
