Position Summary
The Payroll Assistant is responsible for processing payroll on a weekly basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for specific job sites by entering payroll hours from time cards, time sheets, etc.
- Set up and maintain all employee records.
- Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments and post onto designated records.
- Review time sheets, work sheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
- Process and issue employee paychecks and direct deposit statements of earnings and deductions.
- Remit the weekly direct deposit and 401k deposit.
- Responsible for running various reports for management.
- The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent is required. Minimum of 2 years experience in Payroll or Accounting is required. Must have good oral communication skills. Knowledge of time accounting software is required. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Must have accuracy when using data entry and attention to detail.
Physical Demands
Requires long periods of sitting and working directly on a computer. Must be able to meet deadlines. May be required to work long hours and weekends. All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
