Job Description
Position Summary
This is a role in the Quality Assurance (QA) department in which the assistant aids in supporting activities related to audits and quality compliance programs with the applicable quality management systems. The individual will review quality system procedures, conduct internal audits, and participate in company quality projects as requested. The individual will work collaboratively with a variety of teams and other QA staff members to ensure that quality and performance metrics are understood and acted upon. The individual will assist with Quality Assurance documentation and update relevant quality system records. The individual will also aid in the certification of reference materials by way of an inter-lab study. The specialist will be responsible for coordinating samples sent to the selected labs, receiving test data from labs, and summarizing the data in a product certification report.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Active member in the Quality Management System accredited/certified to ISO 17025, 17034, 17043 and 9001.
- Work with management/customers to respond to complaints, support product investigations, empathize with customers, and guide LGC to a satisfactory resolution.
- Actively participate in corrective actions (RCCA) that result from process flaws and customer complaints.
- Follow system policies, procedures, and productivity standards in QA Department
- Conduct quality system audits of requested areas
- Schedule, update, and review employee training records
- Enter customer supplied data to generate test reports.
- Process and report analytical data generated by an inter-lab study to determine the validity of the analysis, product characteristics, and quality release of the product as a certified reference material as per ISO standard 17034.
- Manage web-based software and reporting features.
- Active member of an ancillary group (Spill Team, Hazardous Waste Coordinator, Safety Committee, First Aid Responder).
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications
Essential
- High School Diploma, GED, Related experience/training or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft windows
- Proficient in Microsoft office products
- Proficient in internet-based application programs
Preferred
- BA/BS in scientific discipline
- Knowledge of general Chemistry
- Familiarity with the Periodic Table of Elements
