Job Description:
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Healthcare Attorney for a 6-month assignment with our client. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of relevant experience and be able to hit the ground running with minimal training. Hours per week will range from 25 to 40, depending on the workload.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze communication between providers and insurers
- Manage healthcare claims
- Review contract provisions in provider manuals and Summary Plan Descriptions, including reimbursement language, anti-assignment provisions, and administrative records for claims
- Utilize MS Excel to analyze claims detail
Qualifications:
- 4-8 years of experience as a Healthcare Attorney
- Expertise in interpreting reimbursement language, anti-assignment provisions, and medical necessity definitions
- Ability to identify denial categories and underpayments (e.g., medical necessity, DRG downgrades, ED downgrades) and handle appeals
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, including sorting, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP functions
- Familiarity with extrapolation methodologies is preferred
- Active Washington Bar license required
