Job Description
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations within the manufacturing facility.
- Maintain and update employee records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Ensure the HR department's activities comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage the recruitment process including job postings, interviews, and selection of candidates.
- Coordinate with department heads to understand staffing needs and create job descriptions.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for future staffing needs.
- Act as a liaison between management and employees to address employee grievances and concerns.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote effective communication within the plant.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and resolve conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
- Oversee the performance review process, ensuring timely completion and consistency across the plant.
- Work with supervisors to identify performance issues and develop improvement plans.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on employee development and performance enhancement.
- Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements, including safety and regulatory training.
- Promote continuous learning and development opportunities within the facility.
- Administer employee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring alignment with company policies and industry standards.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and other HR-related issues.
- Monitor and analyze compensation trends to ensure competitive and fair compensation practices.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct regular audits of HR processes and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with the Safety Manager to ensure a safe working environment.
- Promote adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and facilitate return-to-work programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, but not required
- 5 years office management; preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Proven experience in managing HR staff and overseeing HR operations
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in HRIS and other HR software applications
