LHH is seeking a Purchasing Agent for a company in the chemical manufacturing industry in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate has 2 years of purchasing experience and proficient computer and communication skills. This is a temporary opportunity with potential for permanent hire.
Responsibilities
Assist in sourcing and procuring materials, goods, and services according to company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
Monitor inventory levels and initiate action to replenish stock as needed.
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues or concerns.
Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements within the procurement function.
Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to inform purchasing decisions.
Assist in preparing purchase orders and other procurement-related documentation.
Provide administrative support to the procurement team as needed
Qualifications
At least 2 years of purchasing experience
Experience within the manufacturing industry is strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Downtown Indianapolis (100% onsite)
Employment Type
Temporary for 8-12 weeks (potential for permanent hire)
Pay Details: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour
