What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at LHH?
LHH is working with a Denver-based Insurance Broker in their search for a Senior Accountant. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work in an interesting market with a growing company with upward mobility potential.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts
- Prepare daily bank reconciliations for all cash and investment accounts
- Preparation of cash forecasts. Assists the VP Finance in the cash management strategies of the company
- Preparation of bi-weekly payroll and related reconciliations/filings
- Prepare sales/use tax returns/remittances on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
- Prepare managed billings
- Produce journal entries with appropriate and required supporting detail
- Review of journal entries prepared by other department members
- Reconciliation/analysis of intercompany accounts
- Upload data from various systems to accounting software system, including fuel invoices, vendor invoices, banking information, flight control/operations, maintenance, etc.
- Assist VP Finance in the completion of the monthly G/L close process including month-end management reporting
- Complete investigations of general ledger, financial statements, and budget variances
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports (internal/external) for related party companies on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or another technical field
- At least 5 years’ experience in accounting with a strong knowledge of payroll and advanced excels skills
- This is a predominantly in-office role
Compensation:
- 80-100K plus bonus
