What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at LHH?
As Staff Accountant you will support financial staff in all financial matters by working with the Financial Controller and other officers to set up control systems and manage company financial records. You will work to ensure that company accounting and financial processes are in legal compliance and in accordance with the best accounting practices.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns and tangible tax returns.
- Assisting Financial Managers with budgeting
- Ensuring all accounting practices follow legal guidelines and established accounting principles.
- Working with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies.
- Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes.
- Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records
- Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent understanding of governmental guidelines and tax laws that affect the client.
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in basic office and accounting software programs
- Collaboration and teamwork skills
- Excel intermediate or advanced
- Must have an associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 5 years experience in accounting (month end close).
