Our client, an excellent consulting engineering firm based in the local area, is actively seeking to add an energy engineer to the team, to support energy consulting services and sustainable design.
The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of mechanical building systems, (HVAC system; chilled water, hot water, steam, air handling systems, air terminal devices, building exhaust, building automation systems) and energy conservation.
Individuals will have experience with building energy performance to perform building audits (or assessments) and provide expert advice for customers while recommending specific upgrades.

Individuals will have experience with building energy performance to perform building audits (or assessments) and provide expert advice for customers while recommending specific upgrades.
- Manage and execute retro-commissioning and new building commissioning projects, including developing commissioning plans, reviewing designs and submittals, and performing functional performance tests to prepare reports
- Identify and implement ECM recommendations and opportunities; calculate associated savings
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Seven (7) or more years of technical knowledge and experience with mechanical building systems HVAC systems and energy conservation projects
- Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
- Strong project management skills, resourceful collaborator possessing strong planning, organizational, and communication skills both written and verbal
- Perform Energy audits (conducting on-site field surveys, executing energy-related calculations, drafting reports, participate in client discussions)
- HVAC commissioning experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP a plus
- Advanced understanding of energy efficiency concepts, HVAC systems, and renewable energy systems
- Experience with various modeling techniques
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems
- Proficiency in performing ASHRAE Level 2 and 3 energy audits
- Perform QA/QC processes of energy reduction plans
- Conduct energy audits and site assessments of complex building systems
- Must be able to lead and/or perform on-site and virtual audits in a variety of environments including commercial, industrial, schools and government facilities
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED AP or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus
- Experienced in mechanical and electrical engineering and plumbing design
- Demonstrated experience with energy codes and standards (IECC, ASHRAE, etc.)
