Senior Analyst- Assortment Clustering & Optimization Job Description The Senior Analyst serves as a key business partner to the Category Management and Planning teams by leading the development of store clusters and assortments to optimize sales, margin, inventory turn, SKU productivity. The AC&O team is accountable for the creation, execution, and maintenance of the product assortments by network/space plans using our Assortment Planning Tool to drive productivity across each of our omni-always channels. In addition to supporting and advising them throughout the Category Line Review process from the initial kickoff meeting through post product line review deliverables. Job Specifications: ASSORTMENT PLAN DEVELOPMENT & MAINTENANCE Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with internal teams and cross-functional business partners to build Assortment Plans, from creation to finalization, with targeted product information and attributes, approved cluster strategy and product performance information Perform analysis of SKU and product performance across all networks to identify add/drop recommendations, go forward strategies, and maximize opportunities Develop SKU/store level assortment plans that optimize our financial objectives and deliver against primary category strategic objectives Perform updates and overrides of item recommendations at the direction of the Category Managers to ensure accurate versioned assortment plans are created in Assortment Planning tool Collaborate with Space Planning team to refine proposed space grouping assortments by executing space optimization strategies in support of accurate SPECs. BUSINESS INSIGHTS & ANALYSIS Lead the Merchandising teams through the evaluation and determination of assortment plan criteria and attributes, including store clustering, sku target setting and assortment selection ensuring alignment with Merchandising Strategic Objectives and Insights (Including relevant use of Category Roles) Provide item level guidance to the Demand Planner and Category Manager, as well as item level guidance to product development, ensuring alignment to assortment goals Create reporting outputs for resolution with Category Managers, influencing the team on targeted assortment changes to accomplish the optimum financial and inventory goals Propose action plans to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks Support ad hoc analysis for the core strategies, category management insights and merchandise assortment recommendations Manage ongoing assortment eligibility and beginning/end of life status PROJECT MANAGEMENT Assist in the ongoing transition from legacy assortment planning tools to best in class solutions Establishes and manages overall end to end Assortment Planning process including assortment kickoff meeting, (Future) cluster strategy review, target setting, cross-functional working sessions, final assortment publication Partner on the ongoing development of an enhanced assortment planning capability as needed Assist with presentations, as needed, to all levels of corporate management Job Requirements Drives positive business results through demonstrated knowledge of retail and focus on the customer Proactively identifies, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to key business issues Analytical background Communicates effectively to ensure broad awareness and alignment is achieved within functional accountabilities Insatiably inquisitive about the business and category performance leading to actionable insights and recommendations that improve performance Solution oriented with the ability to turn insights into actions Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Category Management, Merchandise Financial Planning, Inventory Management, field partners and other cross functional teams to achieve results through others Committed to developing growth and contribution in self and others Concisely presents complex information in terms appropriate to diverse audiences Responsive and flexible to changing business needs Expert command of MS Excel proficient on PC-based applications 3-5 years’ work experience in retail planning, buying or merchandising required Bachelors' degree in business preferred PREFERRED Experience with retail assortment store clustering Experience with Blue Yonder Channel Clustering and Assortment Optimization software Experience with data visualization software (Tableau, Domo, Alteryx, Sequel) Experience with Teradata or Google Cloud platform #LI-CM1 #LI-REMOTE If you need reasonable accommodations to complete the on-line application, please contact the Human Resource Department: Phone: 1-844-MYHRSC1 Email: myHRSC@bedbath.com This email address is only to request reasonable accommodation for the application process due to a medical condition.
