NETWORK ENGINEER
Position Summary:
The candidate will provide Network Engineer support to NSWC Crane in Crane, Indiana area. Support includes but not limited to Windows, Linux, Virtualization, and Networking for the on premise data center as well as the public cloud assets. The candidate will design and implement network architecture and monitoring devices, integrate solutions, and perform test and evaluation services in accordance with the hardware and software standards, solutions, processes, and services.

Position Summary:
The candidate will provide Network Engineer support to NSWC Crane in Crane, Indiana area. The candidate will design and implement network architecture and monitoring devices, integrate solutions, and perform test and evaluation services in accordance with the hardware and software standards, solutions, processes, and services.
Clearance Requirement:
- Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance
- Some positions may require a valid Cisco Certified Network Professional certification
- Develop and maintain network architecture and infrastructure including installation, test, upgrades and other required maintenance.
- Provide network configuration and documentation including network drawings and hardware/software lists.
- Ensure network services, configurations, and infrastructure conform to all applicable NREN SLAs, MOA/MOUs, and Design Documents.
- Provide network administration and network security on all NREN network connections, including WAN/LAN, border, and wireless.
- Identify and deploy software and solutions for developing Intrusion Detection Architecture for NREN network connections.
- Configure, administer, and maintain network monitoring tools to provide visualization and reporting on all aspects of network infrastructure.
- Provide guidance and communication on DOD mandated security requirements, documentation of Intrusion Detection System (IDS) software and/or hardware used and other topics specific to network vulnerability mitigation.
- Maintain network infrastructure configuration management including configuration baselines, standardization, and backups of all network configuration files.
- Develop and maintain network architecture and infrastructure including installation, test, upgrades and other required maintenance on systems that include, but are not limited to, Cisco Switches, Routers, and Firewalls.
- Provide IT strategy, design and buildout services for RDT&E workstations, servers and infrastructure to ensure that operability requirements are up to date.
- Provide IT strategy design and buildout services for current and emerging technologies.
- Follow ITIL best practices focused on aligning IT services with the needs of business.
- Develop and maintain network architecture and infrastructure including installation, test, upgrades, and other required maintenance.
- Input data into relational databases for existing IT asset tracking programs and systems.
- Perform Configuration Management (CM) support by tracking changes to information system and subsystems.
- Monitoring, reporting, configuration and change control of IA security controls with regards to all NREN systems and applications. Including, but not limited to, DAR, STIG, IAVM, RMF, and other related compliance guidelines
- Manage system resources in the monitoring of performance, capacity, availability, serviceability and recoverability
- Conduct analyses and record findings on current patch compliance status of NREN computers for use in the Assessment & Authorization process.
- Bachelor's level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science of Information Systems
- Five (5) years of full-time professional experience in system administration
- deployment, and operation and maintenance of Linux server operating systems
- Five (3) years of professional experience in design, implementation, and operation of a geographically dispersed network.
- One (1) year professional experience with Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
- Two (2) years of professional experience in designing, implementing, and operating a network infrastructure to a Cloud environment.
- Master's level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science of Information Systems
- Ten (10) years of full-time professional experience in system administration
- Five (5) years of professional experience in design, implementation, and operation of a geographically dispersed network.
- Two (2) years professional experience with Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
- Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 15 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
- Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
- Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
