RMF Specialist

Position Summary:

As RMF Specialist, you will provide Risk Management Framework (RMF) support to the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC-LANT) in the Charleston, SC area.  You will provide support for Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for systems or hosting environments, located in various Department of the Navy (DoN) computing environments and test facilities during integration and prior to sustainment.
 
Contract Specifications:
  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Must be IAT Level II compliant (Security+ or equivalent)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Interface with NMCI, RDT&E and other DoN/DoD/Federal networks
  • Support all systems, networks, servers, applications or associated devices procured and/or connected to DoN networks for the purposes of integration.
  • Support cybersecurity requirements definition by identifying controls to be implemented on identified systems and networks.
  • Recommend processes for maintaining and enforcing cybersecurity posture for identified systems, networks and systems in support of security engineering.
  • Document the A&A requirements and processes in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-37/DoN Risk Management Framework Process Guide v2.0.
  • Coordinate requirements to ensure compliance with all pertinent, regulatory cybersecurity policies; ensure that all RMF artifacts and associated A&A support documentation comply with current Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Instruction (CJCSI), DoD, DON and NIWC Atlantic mandates and regulations in support of security engineering.
  • Ensure all systems, networks, servers or associated devices procured and/or connected to a Navy network for the purposes of integration have completed DADMS registration and received FAM approval.
  • Ensure all systems integrated, installed or operational on Navy networks are FAM approved and registered in Department of Defense IT Portfolio Registry (DITPR)-DON.
  • Evaluate IT security architectures for the development, certification and accreditation process in accordance with all applicable DoD and DoN guidelines.  
  • Work closely with project management teams to ensure that project deliverables are understood and executed within schedule and performance.
  • Update/maintain all documentation requested by senior team members and management. Ability to work independently with little to no supervision on assigned tasks.
  • Assist in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in a STEM field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in RMF (or DIACAP)
  • Understanding of DoD networks and cyber security compliance requirements
  • Expertise in NIST SP 800 series guidance.
  • Expertise in DoD cyber security policies and requirements.
Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 15 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
