Responsibilities
- Assist and monitor clients while dressing, bathing, toileting, and in all other aspects of self-care.
- Assist and monitor clients during meals to ensure utilization of family style dining.
- Assist and monitor clients in all aspects of housekeeping responsibilities. (Clothing care, house cleaning, and yard care.)
- Assist and monitor clients in preparing meals and nutritional supplements.
- Assist and monitor clients in the administration of prescribed medication without error.
- Assist and monitor clients in the implementation of prescribed diet orders and utilization of adaptive equipment
- Implement and follow all established behavior programs, data collection, and established safety procedures.
- Assist and monitor clients in appropriate active treatment including training objective plans, recording data, and implementing service goals.
- Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team and to communicate appropriate clients information as directed by supervisory staff.
- Transport and monitor clients on Company vehicles as directed.
- Assist and monitor clients during community outings.
- Assist and monitor clients during participation at school and day program activities.
- Attend staff development classes as scheduled and successfully complete test required competency testing (NCI, CPR, First Aid, Safe Van Driving, Promotion of Consumer Well Being, Cultural Competency and Medication Administration.
- Ensures that work area and company vehicles is clean, safe, secure, and well maintained.
- Ensures all required documentation is completed as listed in facility communication book and or any software system.
- Reports any violations of client right to supervisory staff immediately.
- Reports any on the job injury to supervisory staff immediately.
- Arrives to work on time and leaves the work site at the end of the shift or when the next shift arrives.
- Reports to work on all scheduled days unless absence has been approved by supervisor.
- Interacts with clients in a positive manner and in accordance with Clients Rights Policies.
- Interacts with parents, guardians and other visitors in a positive manner.
- Works as a team player and interacts in a positive manner with coworkers.
- Adheres to established LIFE, Inc. dress code as it relates to clothing, shoes, jewelry and nail length.
- Assist with training and production with LIFE’s SpecialTees as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
- NC Drivers License
- No experience required.
- Ability to work well with others, be self-motivated.
- Display strong oral and written communication skills.
- Possess problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and be reached by phone
- Physical Strength: Able to lift or move up to 40 lbs or more.
- Ability to perform NCI, CPR, and First Aid techniques.
- Daily contact with body fluids, cleaning agents, and general household equipment.
