SUMMARY: General billing duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains & reviews prior authorization log/updates staff and systems
- Maintains billing database – billing, submitting and reviewing charges
- Transmits billing to ARCAID/ZIRMED according to Medicaid/Insurance guidelines
- Insurance verifications/insurance denial follow ups/credentialing
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Two (2) years related experience and/or training
- Experience in medical office setting
- Excellent computer skills especially MS Office
- Basic accounting skills – 10 Key and typing skills
- Knowledge of medical codes
- Knowledge of Arkansas Medicaid billing procedures
- Must be able to organize and handle multiple tasks
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, staff, and the general public
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Basic mathematic skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division..
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
