Under general supervision, monitors and patrols District facilities, property, and surrounding areas for the purposes of performing law enforcement, emergency response, and crime prevention functions to provide a safe environment for students, staff and the public.

- Develops and implements a student-centered approach to community policing, focusing on student development and assistance. Patrols to detect and deter crime and to help when need
- Maintain effective liaison with local outside law enforcement agencies. (i.e., Marietta Police Department, Cobb County Sheriff's Office, GEMA, etc.)
- Ability to lead law enforcement efforts in response to critical incidents.
- Ability to manage third-party private security contracts.
- Prepares required reports.
- Checks the security of buildings.
- Investigates suspicious activities or persons.
- Investigates traffic accidents and criminal or non-criminal incidents.
- Makes arrests and issue citations to individuals who have committed a crime.
- Responds to emergency incidents.
- Provides security and traffic enforcement at special events.
- Respond to calls for maintenance issues and relay information as needed.
- Assist local jurisdictions as outline in the Georgia mutual aid act.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with the public using principles of good customer service
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.
- Good standing with GA P.O.S.T
- Must be Georgia P.O.S.T. certified
- Ability to successfully pass department background investigation.
- Ability to successfully pass Human Resources background investigation.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to promote vision, work ethic, and accountability in a team environment.
