Summary
Position Summary:
Supervises clinical support staff to proactively respond to the needs of patients and physicians. Works in partnership with office coordinator and practice manager to ensure effective operations. Under direct supervision of provider, performs a variety of clinical responsibilities to assist in the examination and treatment of patients. Performs other functions to support Hospital and departmental requirements. Essential Functions: Clinical Practice Provides assistance and preparation prior to and during examination by health care providers. Works as a collaborative member of the clinical team to ensure quality services and patient safety. Ensures clinical practice is performed in accordance wit Tasks: Interviews patient to obtain reasons for visit such as nature of complaint, physical problems, symptoms of illness and vital signs. Maintains logs for refrigerator temperature (medications and specimens) and weekly exam room cleaning. Maintains timely monitoring and documentation (tracking) of physician ordered laboratory tests, radiology, ultrasound, etc. Performs point of care testing
