The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday. Must be available to respond off hours for emergency cases.
JOB SUMMARY: The Blood Bank Manager supervises, coordinates, and participates in activities of employees performing routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood that assist physicians in the diagnosis and clinical management of patients. Assumes responsibility for recognizing results or problems that require referral to Medical Director or Administrative Director.
As the Transfusion Medicine Laboratory Manager, you will provide day-to-day oversight of transfusion medicine related laboratory operations (operated and manual), take ownership of directing the Laboratory operations and support the entire LBH transfusion services team, tissue tracking, milk product storage, etc. Manage and supervises clinical operations of clinical laboratory department. Works closely with the Laboratory Director to coordinate a wide variety of administrative, technical, fiscal, and educational activities to provide quality laboratory services. Collaborate across multi-disciplinary groups representing the clinical labs. Organize, develop, plan, and implement Section and Departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for providing quality patient care.
Education:
- MT(ASCP) required
- Specialist in Blood Bank (SBB) certification required
- Master’s degree required
- Current experience as a laboratory supervisor/manager.
- 5-7 YEARS EXPERIENCE
- Experience managing a clinical laboratory team in a large hospital organization or trauma center.
