POSITION SUMMARY:
The Performance Improvement Specialist will support cross-functional, hospital-wide process improvement initiatives to help increase efficiencies and reduce waste within the organization. This critical role will be responsible for identifying and implementing business-related, process improvement practices using Lean Six Sigma, project management, and change management disciplines. Use of Excel, Tableau, Cerner and other tools for data analytics and reporting.
Essential Functions:
Lean Six Sigma: Responsible for the successful identification, development, and deployment of specific Lean management projects. Will work to establish Lean teams and educate team members across the continuum on Lean processes.
Project Management: Responsible for project management and administration including, but not limited to, project development, direction, implementation, cost/benefit analysis, staffing/scheduling, and resource allocation.
Process Mapping: Ability to collaborate with leaders and team members across the continuum of care to facilitate current state assessments, process mapping exercises, root cause analysis, and future state design sessions.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical problem solver that can work with interdisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for improvement and drive rapid, data-driven, and focused solutions.
Performance Tracking: Develops and tracks key performance metrics for hospital departments and related services with an emphasis on critical success factors; monitors and controls the changes that were made to improve existing processes to ensure long-term effectiveness.
Strategic Initiatives: Supports and project manages the strategic initiatives and operational priorities of the Performance Excellence department to help the hospital at-large achieve its overall mission and strategic objectives.
Hospital Operations: Plans and performs analysis of hospital operations and clinical service lines, as assigned. Develops verbal, written, and graphical presentations required to communicate findings and recommend further action regarding staffing, facilities, equipment, etc.
Clinical Redesign: Supports prospective redesign of new and existing patient flow and work flow processes to help deliver the highest level of quality care to patients.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Engineering, Health Administration, Nursing, or other related disciplines
- 1-3 years of experience
- Lean Six Sigma or Project Management certs preferred
