We have TWO children that need a foster care home right now!
You MUST be willing to become a licensed Foster Care Parent!
FOSTER CARE CHILD #1
ANNUAL STIPEND: $60,000/Year, TAX FREE!!!
LOCATION: Southern NH (Nashua, Salem, Manchester, Northfield, Dover, etc.)
REQUIRED: Must be LGBTQ friendly.
CLIENT NEEDS: No children in the home (of any age), but pets are OK.
DIAGNOSES: Intellectual Disability, Developmental Delay
CLIENT DESCRIPTION:
This individual is a teenager who likes animals, sports, being outdoors, enjoys utilizing fidgets and other sensory regulating tools such as kinetic sand. He can advocate for his needs and prefers opportunities to “help” or complete a task versus play a game with a peer. He recently reached out to members of his team and felt comfortable and safe enough to share that he would like to identify as a male. This individual can be sensitive to loud sounds and loud/chaotic environments. This will typically result in him running off to a safe space. He has worked on this behavior and has a set plan in place that is working. He also utilizes braces on his legs for a portion of the day to assist with mobility.
He has historically had difficulty with unexpected changes, responding to “no,” and gaining staff’s attention appropriately. He does sometimes compete with his peers for staff attention which can lead to peer conflict. All of these situations can lead to tantrum behavior which could include yelling, and/or bolting. He benefits from using a visual schedule. He does not typically have difficulty with his morning routine but can struggle to maintain his room hygiene.
FOSTER CARE CHILD #2
ANNUAL STIPEND: $60,000/Year, TAX FREE!!!
LOCATION: Looking for a Foster Care Parent near Northfield NH.
REQUIRED: Trauma informed, Licensed Foster Parent.
CLIENT NEEDS:
- Clear English speaking (for comprehension).
- No children in the home (of any age), but pets are okay.
DIAGNOSES: Autism spectrum disorder (high functioning), mild intellectual disability, ADHD, ODD, Anxiety, Depression.
CLIENT DESCRIPTION:
This teenage individual has major challenges with comprehension, memory, and social skills. This individual is very socially motivated, which often lead to conflictual interactions with peers when paired with his poor social skills. This individual’s understanding of the world, especially as it pertains to his pending responsibilities as an adult, is limited. Since his placement in his current residential program, he has not shown any violent behaviors, though he does have serious difficulties connecting with his peers, including challenging social interactions, alienation, and at times being targeted by his peers for harassment and bullying. He reports that his peers find him annoying, and he is actively working with staff to develop his social skills. His processing, comprehension, and memory is below the level of his peers, indicative of learning disability and cognitive delay. At this time, staff are working on activities of independent living, such as bathing, tooth brushing, regular meals, medications, and shoe-tying, most of which he is able to complete, but requires prompting and sometimes instruction to complete them accurately. He expresses interest in earning income, attending college, and achieving a career, but lacks many foundational skills to do so and possesses a limited understanding of what his goals will take to achieve.
