The Pharmacy Assistant will provide ongoing customer service in a fast pace, innovative clinic working with under-served populations.
Essential Functions:
- Contact patients via phone/in person to introduce and explain the benefits of the MTM program and ensure patients are prepared to complete the MTM service at their scheduled appointment time or schedule the appointment
- Conduct telephonic patient intake by inputting demographic, allergy, and medication information into the MTM platform
- Document patient questions and/or concerns for the Pharmacist to address directly with the patient
- Contact patient as needed for follow-up and adherence monitoring
- Collaborate with the Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians, and pharmacy student colleagues to support resolution of medication therapy problems
- Assist with documenting and submitting claims for clinical interventions made by Pharmacist
- Collaborate with prescriber offices to obtain responses to pharmacist generated clinical recommendations
Education and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Must be able to fluently speak and write in both English and Spanish
- Clinical background in training or experience as an MA, Pharmacy Tech (Preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience (Preferred)
This position is rotational and will begin in the Pharmacy with the opportunity to move to other departments.
