What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Director Inclusive/Integrated position at Lifehouse Agency?
Great Expectations is a play based inclusive preschool for children aged three through five years old. Students of all abilities are supported by qualified and experienced teachers, specialists and paraprofessionals to explore, experience and participate in a variety of activities. A low student to teacher ratio allows us to provide a nurturing, safe and supportive environment where the teachers are sensitive to each child’s needs.
The Preschool Director assumes responsibility for the daily operation of the preschool program, including developing program plans, preparing budgets and managing enrollment, and loving leadership and coaching. Looking for someone innovative who is interested growing the school and program.
What you’ll do
- Supervise and collaborate with the preschool teachers, special education, paraeducators and therapists to implement the Great Expectations preschool curriculum.
- Creates and implements curricula and standards that support educational excellence.
- Manage referrals, tours and admission of new children.
- Collaborate with the accounting office regarding admissions, agreements and billing information.
- Remain current on issues and trends in early childhood education.
- Maintain a visible presence to staff, students and preschool families.
- Interview and hire teachers, substitute teachers, and staff.
- Develop and manage an annual operating budget. Maintain financial health of the preschool.
- Coordinate marketing, media reach and open enrollment.
Who you are
- Meet California Community Care Licensing requirements for preschool director.
- Degree in child development, 3 units in administration, and 2 years teaching experience; or BA in child development, 3 units in administration, and 1-year teaching experience; or Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit; or School-Age Director
- Interest in working with children with different abilities.
- Understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.
- Knowledge and training in the Teaching Pyramid.
