Position Summary: Performs a variety of Central Services and/or Receiving/ Distribution tasks including but not limited to: preparing, issuing, cleaning, and storing of medical equipment/carts and issuing and maintaining medical supplies as well as receiving freight, stocking shelves, picking, and delivering supplies to various departments Essential Functions. As a member of the Supply Chain Team (assigned to Central Service functions):Gathers, prepares, and cleans medical equipment used for patient care. - Disinfects used patient equipment per manufacturer guidelines, wearing appropriate PPE. - Performs required equipment function checks on a variety of equipment, as instructed. - Labels and stores medical equipment appropriately. - Ensures that damaged, missing, or malfunctioning medical equipment is identified, removed, and immediately reported. - Maintains required record-keeping accurately. Delivers, sets up, removes, cleans, and stores patient traction equipment. - Provides appropriate traction per clinical request. - Removes traction, cleans, and stores after use. Issues and delivers requisitioned supplies and equipment. - Fills requisitions as needed and replenishes PAR levels as scheduled, utilizing handheld devices for counting. - Proper use of handheld devices to count and download information to accurately decrement inventory and provide a working PAR level fill requisition. - Ensures that supplies (not needed) are properly physically returned to GS inventory for adjustment in the perpetual inventory system. - Maintains and processes documentation of equipment utilization for patient charging purposes. - Delivers carts and other medical equipment used for patient care, as needed - Rounds on patient care areas daily to determine if medical equipment is in use related to daily equipment charges. Accomplishes "Team Management" functions, as assigned. - Ensures that accurate labels are attached to the patient chargeable supplies and that associated records are kept up-to-date. - Completes required documentation and submits to supervisor. As a member of the Supply Chain Team (assigned to Receiving/ Distribution functions):Receives, verifies, and inspects deliveries. - Unloads freight, ensuring safety precautions are employed. - Compares purchase orders to the packing list and contents to ensure accuracy, reporting any discrepancies or damage to buyers. - Accurately files designated documents in accordance with the established filing system. - Ensures that items are stored in proper locations by the end of the shift. Stores, stages, or delivers items received. - Rotates stock in accordance with established procedure. - Ensures out-of-date items are removed promptly. - Completes required documentation and submits to supervisor. Issues items to departments throughout the hospital in response to requisitions and stock orders processed using (MMIS computer system). - Possesses knowledge of inventory items to assist customers by telephone, email, or in person. - Accurately fills and delivers supplies to requesting departments. - Files completed packing list once stock orders and non-stock orders are delivered. Prepares items for shipping. - Ensures that items are properly packaged, labeled, and documented for shipping, so that damage and/or delay does not occur. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent - Required Required Skills. Previous experience in a healthcare setting and supply chain preferred. Ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively to the unique needs of all patients and customers served. Previous experience with the use of computers (required) and handheld inventory devices (preferred). Must have a valid NC Driver's license to perform duties related to the Receiving/ Distribution work area.
