Qualifications:
- High school graduate/GED
- 3 years of formal dining room and managerial experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy, and compassion
- Effective communication skills
- Must posses the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, and the public
- Must be familiar with HACCP protocols
- Must posses the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices as approved by Director
- Must possess knowledge of federal, state, and local policies, procedures, and guidelines regarding food service practices in healthcare institutions
- Be able to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to greet and interact with residents and ensure all patrons have an enjoyable and satisfying experience in the dining room
Essential Duties
- Update all resident dining information systems, reservations, menus and server checks, as needed
- Manage and maintain a POS system.
- Monitor dining employee attendance and conduct performance evaluations
- Prepares schedules and processes payroll
- Ensure automated departmental systems are functional
- Notification to Director of Dining and Hospitality Services of inventory requirements in a timely fashion
- Ensure staff completes all mandatory in-services and trains staff in proper procedures
- Adherence to all safety policies & procedures of The Chesapeake and regulatory authorities
- Maintenance of confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure resident’s rights and employee confidentiality are protected
- Assure that all Dining Services protocols and procedures are followed in accordance with established policy
- Ensure menus and server checks are printed daily and without errors
- Responsible for developing in-service training programs for all dining room staff
- Performance of other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed
- Comfortability with Microsoft Office including Word, Power point, and Excel
