JOB DUTIES:
- Process claims for ambulatory, wheelchair and gurney level transports.
- Obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations as required
- Verify insurance eligibility for all patient accounts
- Basic knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid Regulations and Billing Guidelines
- Basic knowledge of Commercial, PPO, and HMO Regulations and Billing Guidelines.
- Respond to inquires from insurance companies, patients and clients.
- Collection calls and/ or correspondence with external clients or patients for payment.
- Ability to assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes.
- All other duties as assigned.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology and billing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Monitor daily volume and productivity to improve efficiency.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and practices.
- Become knowledgeable in and keep compliance with federal and state regulations relating to department functions, patient confidentiality and medical records release.
