What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Support Specialist (Youth Partner) (FT) position at Lifeways Inc?
Responsibilities:
- Provide youth, parents, and direct caregivers with information about Lifeways, the Wraparound process and procedures, and the peer support role to promote engagement in services
- Provide peer-delivered services and support for up to 15 youth
- Follow best practices for high fidelity if the youth is enrolled in Wraparound
- Utilize personal or shared life experience to provide peer support to youth
- Provide individual and group support to enable and facilitate meaningful engagement with service providers and the Wraparound team
- Assist in connecting the youth to resources within the community

Communicate effectively with youth, caregivers, their support system, and agency representatives
- Explore strengths, needs, culture and vision with the youth and family
- Provide non-judgmental, unconditional support, serving as a consistent source of encouragement and hope
- Support the family through barriers, help family members acquire tools and strategies for success
- Advocate for the family’s needs, interests, voice, and vision to be heard and thoughtfully considered
- Model effective communication, frame and reframe a concern to facilitate collaboration, patience, and a strengths-based approach
