Overview:
The Program Manager for our community arts program is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing arts programs designed to engage the community in visual arts, music, dance, and other creative expressions. The Program Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, manage staff, and ensure that programs are accessible and impactful for a diverse range of participants. The role requires collaboration with artists, local organizations, and community members to provide inclusive, educational, and enriching arts experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts, community engagement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of program coordinators, teaching artists, assistants, and volunteers to ensure high-quality program delivery.
- Provide regular feedback, guidance, and professional development opportunities to staff.
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and management of programs.
- Develop and execute program plans, including timelines, goals, and resource needs.
- Ensure that programs align with the organization's mission and meet participant needs.
- Track program outcomes and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing support and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and promote a culture of learning and improvement.
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Track program expenses and report on financial performance to leadership and funders.
- Identify potential funding opportunities and support grant writing and fundraising efforts.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on program performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare regular reports for the Executive Director, funders, and other stakeholders.
- Use data and feedback to improve program effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement.
- Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and with external partners to promote programs and services.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
- Ensure that staff are prepared and equipped to meet the needs of program participants, including providing support for diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase retention and youth enrollment in programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with local schools, community organizations, artists, and cultural institutions to enhance the program's reach and impact.
- Engage families, participants, and the broader community to ensure the program meets their needs and fosters a sense of belonging.
- Oversee the planning and execution of community events, performances, exhibitions, and showcases that highlight the talents and achievements of participants.
- Work directly with the Executive and Development Director.
- All other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably in arts or community development.
- Proven ability to manage programs, develop plans, and supervise staff.
- Interact with under-served and vulnerable youth populations.
- Experience with budget management and financial reporting.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of youth development principles and best practices.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
