Position Overview
We are seeking a public relations lead and content writer to own, execute, and scale the LightBox content marketing program. The successful candidate is a self-starter who is passionate about writing, with proven experience in establishing B2B authority and credibility through PR, reports, blogs, social media, and other valued content preferably in the commercial real estate or financial services industries.
You will work cross-functionally, collaborating with multiple teams to write targeted content that will be used for PR and content marketing programs.
To be successful in this role: you will need to have demonstrated the ability to source content ideas using or applying commercial real estate data and write content that is compelling to segments in the CRE market. You will be a perfect candidate if you already have excellent and relevant writing samples, knowledge of how best to engage with reporters and journalists, and experience in repurposing content across multiple channels.
What you will do and achieve
- Lead the development of content across available channels including but not limited to articles, reports, blogs, guides, presentations, webinars, web copy, email, collateral, video, and social channels.
- Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and research subjects for content that will target audiences and drive awareness for LightBox.
- Write content that is valued by our target audience.
- Own the editorial calendar to ensure projects are on target to launch.
- Identify potential PR and media engagement opportunities for media placement.
- Manage the PR media list and create releases for distribution.
- Measure effectiveness of media placement, social engagement, and other content channels.
Who you are
Education
- BA preferred (will accept candidates without a degree with relevant industry experience)
Experience
- Three years PR and content writing experience in CRE or financial services industry.
- Exceptional background in writing, editing, and producing communications assets.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing, or other related field or equivalent experience.
- Applying financial, commercial real estate, and technology related data.
- Proven track record creating content from idea to publication.
Key Knowledge & Skills
- Strong editorial background and superior proofreading skills, as well as experience adhering to AP style guide.
- Experience writing and optimizing copy and managing content calendar across multiple media.
- Ability to quantify ROI on content marketing efforts.
- Strong project and relationship management skills.
- Hands-on experience with PR tools such as Meltwater or Cision (or other PR outreach and measurement tools).
- Exposure to a variety of marketing/sales tools such as Salesforce, Pardot, Canva, Monday (or similar project management tool), Adobe Creative Suite, Qualtrics, WordPress, Wistia, and Sprout Social.
